Sarah Michaela Sitarz is a jewelry artist living and working in Northeast Minneapolis. Her handcrafted sterling silver jewelry is
frequently described as simple, clean, and elegant. Sarah strives to create unique designs that are not just comfortable and affordable
but designs that also showcase her craftsmanship and attention to detail.
From elementary school to adulthood, art has been an essential element in Sarah’s life. With a background in graphic design,
yet the need to create more with her hands, she began spending her free time with a local blacksmith in 2002.
After encouragement from her mentor, she ventured to Santa Fe to study blacksmithing under the guidance of renowned blacksmith
Frank Turley. It was the heat from the forge and the ping of the hammer that inspired her to further her metalsmithing education.
After enrolling in the Jewelry program at the Minneapolis Technical College, Sarah’s new-found passion for fabricating and lost wax
casting quickly consumed her. She realized her true desire was to pursue a career as a jewelry artist. With unwavering support from
her husband, family, and friends she officially launched her business, Sarah Michaela Designs, in 2005.
During the summer months Sarah participates in juried Fine Art Fairs throughout Minnesota. While her focus is shifting toward
galleries and retailers across the country she will likely continue to show at select fairs. Her studio in the Casket Arts Building is
open to the general public on First Thursday’s of every month and by appointment.
